Come on in, the blogosphere is fine!
I've been wanting to test these waters for a long time, to see if I can keep up a blog to share my Zentangle-inspired art and thoughts and endeavors. This month it's been a full year since I became a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT), and while I hesitate to take on something new, something that requires continuous effort--like a blog--during this busy time in my life, I've got to start sometime, don't I? Well, technically, I don't...but I want to!
Today I completed a Diva Challenge tile in time to submit it...a rare and auspicious occasion! Most tangle artists submit their designs by linking to their blog or website, so here goes! Wish me well as I join the Zentangle blogging community!
Now...how do I post a photo???
Oh. That's how!
So, this is my response to The Diva's Weekly Zentangle Challenge # 45: Punzel. Connect to the Diva's blog here. Or use the button below:
I'd love it if any experienced bloggers could tell me how to add this button to my sidebar! Can I add it as a gadget? Been trying to figure it out for about 15 minutes...too long! Gotta move on! For now, putting it in my post will have to do. [Eden took care of teaching me how to do this--thank you Eden!]
This week's challenge is inspired by the the new official Tangle by that name...find out more here. It's a tricky-fun tangle! I like it, though I've not completely mastered it yet.
In addition to Punzel , there's Mooka, Tipple, a tangleation of Fescu, and an unidentifiable development that reminds me of an onion. My pen just kept moving, making marks and filling in 'til it had nothing left to add, and then I employed my pencil for some limited shading.
There. Time to publish! And maybe let a few of my Zentangle friends know. If you find your way here to my blog, please leave me some feedback. If you like what you read and see, please pass a link on to others!
welcome to the blogging world! I love your Zentangle, you managed what I could not come close to with mine... curving it around. I like the 'ending' of yours as well. As far as the button... yes, go to "Design", then 'add a gadget' and scroll down to the HTML/JAVA script. Paste the code for the button there and save. Then it will appear where ever you place that gadget on your page. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Eden! For both the kind comment about my Zentangle tile and for helping me get the button to my page. I started with a curved/looped string that somewhat guided my Punzel. Punzel does not want to adhere to a string, though...it seems to want to take on a life of its own!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tile - and nice start to your blog!
ReplyDeleteHi Amy - welcome to blogland from another CZT4 love what you did with Punzel - agreed it does have a mind of it's own!
ReplyDeleteHi Amy, It was my sister Amy that got me started with Zentangle. Not let's hope my new "Zentangle sister" will have given me the push to start my Z-blog. Good Luck, Amy. You have the first step out of the way!
ReplyDeleteWelcome! I understand how you feel about setting up the blog as I did couple of weeks ago and it was scary at start but all sorted and pluck my courage to enter the challenge as well after viewing the challenges for past month. Well done for do it! Love your unique work! Well done!!
ReplyDeleteWell done, Amy! I love the fluid tile, very nice. Welcome to the blogging world...it wasn't all that bad, was it?
ReplyDeleteAs a newby from CZT7 I'm particularly struck by the honest way you posted, for that is exactly how I feel. I have a blog which I have kept private but your example will push me into the next step of getting it up and going to spread my journey into the wonderful world of Zentangle® Thanks Amy.
ReplyDeleteWelcome Amy! Nice to have another CZT4 in the blog world. Can't believe it's been a whole year since we were in class. Your tile is lovely!
ReplyDeleteWelcome Amy! And now a new adventure is beginning! Buona fortuna!

Oh, DRAT!!! I had started a long response to all of you, but as I was finishing up, I hit a link to check out someone's blog, and I lost it all. PHOOEY! Lesson learned, hopefully, though I'm sure that won't be the last time I accidentally lose big text blocks due to my impatience to peek at a fellow blogger's website! Let me try to reconstruct, though I am still bummed that I lost the words that I wrote "fresh"!
ReplyDeleteWell, heartfelt thanks to all of you for responding! I really do feel blessed that you took the time to write something.
Janee, no it wasn't all that bad...but then, I've always known that starting a blog would be fun, exciting, and fairly easy given the blog formats that are now available. My fear is a fear of commitment...I want to be a diligent and thoughtful blogger who can keep up with what I've started! I have SOOOO many ideas, and the more time I spend in Z-Blogland, the more ideas I get. I could spend ALL DAY in the blogosphere engaging with Zentangle and other art blogs, and be perfectly content...except for the fact that I'd be neglecting so many other things that need and deserve my attention.
Sue and Tina, I wish we could hold a CZT4 Reunion...we had a wonderful class (as I'm sure every session has had...but I can only speak for OUR group!). Tina, how old is your precious baby girl now? 6 months? 7? 8? One day a few months ago I found your website and was delighted to find a video of you singing to her. I didn't know the words to express the joy it brought to me. Congratulations!
Duchy Girl, I love how you paired Punzel with Zenplosion Folds...they are a great combo. Congrats on posting your first Challenge tile; I can't wait to see your future contributions!
Babe & Carolyn, please drop me a line when you get YOUR blogs up and running! It might be this evening, next week, or next year, but I look forward to cheering each of you on in YOUR Zentangle journey.
What a great way to dive into the blogging world with a dynamite Zentangle! It's really beautiful, I'm so glad you decided to share and will be keeping my eye out for more of your work!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Very nice! I love your work, and good job on this week's challenge!
ReplyDeleteWelcome aboard Amy, the blogging is fine! :) Luckily with blogging, the commitment is only as big as you want it to be - every day, once a week or once a month. No stress, no guilt - it should be fun first and foremost.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your tile - it's my favorite style...organic and flowing but filled with intricate interest. I'm excited to see more so I followed you to make sure I don't miss any!
Thanks for the compliments and encouragement!
ReplyDeleteI have lots more tiles to scan and share, many of them flowing and organic. My favorite shape is the paisley! Oddly, however, the tile I did for the Diva's Pinwheel Challenge--which was a challenge I myself proposed, and the Diva was kind enough to choose to put out there!--was geometric and tight...not flowing, not organic, not at ALL what I had expected my pinwheel tangle to look like! I will post about that on a future date...

Dear Amy Andrea ( a baby boy) is 8 months old. All my workshops are in a standby because I spend my day to be creative with and for him. I think I will start again next summer with my courses.... to many people are waiting and I do not want to lost this train... but my baby comes first. As soon he will be able to old a pencil he will be my assistent in my zentangle courses.
